Games Like Boomerang Fu

What is Boomerang Fu?

Boomerang Fu is a party platformer. You can play with up to six players locally and basically you use boomerangs to knock out your local competitors and be the last one standing. It’s a strong party game, has fantastic reviews online, and has super cute artwork that makes you want to give those foods a squeeze instead of chop them to bits.

Where can I buy Boomerang Fu?

The game is available on Nintendo Switch, XBox, Steam, and Playstation 4 and 5.

How much does it cost?

As of today Boomerang Fu is $14.99

Ok Ok but are there any similar games out there?

Well, Boomerang Fu is fairly unique. At its core though it is a party platformer for up to 6 players and there are some similar games out there if you are looking to have a good time with your friends. Here are some of our top picks:

1. Overcooked!

This game is an absolute blast and made our list of the best indie games on switch. It is similar in that it is also a party platformer although this one you are working together instead of trying to take each other apart. Here you want to make as many meals and serve as many customers as you can. I love this game and it is family friendly if you also want to play it with your kids.

2. Super Mario Party

(credit: Nintendo)

Technically this one isn’t an indie game but it is the king of party games. Up to four players can play at a time in various game modes. Each mode is basically a collection of mini games for up to four players. Or you can just scroll through and play the mini games by themselves. Sometimes you work with the other players, sometimes you work against them not but no matter what you will have a great time with this one. It is available on Nintendo Switch.

3. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

You probably want to keep talking so that bomb doesn’t explode (credit: Steel Crate Games)

This is a super fun game where one person has to diffuse the bomb and everyone else needs to follow the instructions of how to do it. The hard part of course is getting the people reading the instructions to clearly communicate them to the diffuser. It can definitely get tense! This game is available on pretty much every platform. If you do grab make sure you have a printer handy because you are going to want to print out the instructions. I think technically you could read the instructions from your phone but it would not be nearly as fun.

Bonus: Moving Out

Move that stuff! (image credit: Team 17)

Moving out is a party platformer from Team 17 – the same group that made Overcooked and Overcooked2. As the name suggests you work with your friends to move stuff out. Turning a normally mundane task into something fun isn’t easy but they do a great job of it here. The game is available on Switch, Playstation, XBox and Steam.

Conclusion

Well we hope you find something you like here. Party platformers are a ton of fun to play with family or friends and although Boomerang Fu is pretty unique there are a lot of great options out there for hours insanity! Enjoy!
